Brill’s Operations Department develops and maintains the infrastructures for converting manuscripts into products, print and online, and for offering these products to the market place. Recently Brill.com was launched as Brill’s new online face to the world; it is Brill’s corporate website, but also holds the full catalogue and provides access to Brill’s e-books and online journals. For this core element of Brill’s web presence, we are looking for a: Platform Manager Brill.com (m/f) Full-time

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

Platform management

• Be the face of brill.com to the organization
o Work with key stakeholders in operations and in the business units to prioritize requirements for developing brill.com.
o Communicate about the roadmap as well as about day-to-day issues towards Brill departments and stakeholders.
• Manage day-to-day web platform operations.
o Handle queries and requests regarding Brill.com, originating within and outside Brill.
Manage the backlog of bug tickets.
o Manage relations and communication with vendor, involving regular interaction with the platform vendor to discuss platform development.

• Project management
o Apart from the day-to-day operations, brill.com will have a continuous flow of improvement projects that are delivered as part of platform releases. You will be managing these projects: be responsible for writing and discussing requirements, monitor project progress, manage testing and oversee delivery of releases.
o Manage improvement projects and bug fixing within an agile project driven environment

• Advisory role
o Signal areas of improvement on platform performance, platform interfaces.
o Advise internally on developments in web development in online publishing (such as search, discoverability, SEO, UX and accessibility).


• Reporting
o Help define KPI’s related to various aspects of platform management and platform performance in close cooperation with management and support development of standard reports on KPIs.
o Provide tailor made reports and analyses on various aspects of platform performance on management request.

Functie eisen Platform Manager Brill.com

• At least higher education, supplemented with relevant ICT/ web development knowledge
• At least 3 years’ experience in a relevant/similar position in an international and multi-cultural environment in academic publishing
• Extended knowledge of project management methodologies (based on Agile principles) and demonstrated project management skills
• Working knowledge of key online publishing Industry Standards, such as XML, authentication/
authorization (SAML/Shibboleth), Counter reporting, DOI-registering, KBart and OpenURL.
• SEO Skills: working experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
• Strong interpersonal skills: open and enthusiastic, managing expectations, keeping discrete and diplomatic informational contacts; committed to establishing and developing long-term relationships with key vendor
• Strong initiative and independent result oriented attitude with a focus on market and customer demands
• Strong communication skills both written and spoken in the Dutch and English language
• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, the ability to oversee complex and interrelated issues (helicopter view)

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

Goede arbeidsvoorwaarden. Het salaris ligt op ca. € 4.350 p/mnd op fulltime basis (40 u/wk.)
